Chennai, New Delhi and Mumbai will soon have direct access to Bali thanks to Batik Air, an affiliate airline of the Lion Air Group. Beginning July 2017, Medan will be connected to Chennai, Jakarta to New Delhi and Bali to Mumbai.
Batik Air plans to operate two flights a day between Bali and Mumbai to meet the rapidly growing demand via an A320 Airbus. According to the CEO of Batik Air, approvals are in hand from both the Indonesian and Indian governments.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism is hoping that Batik Air’s plans to fly to Australia, Malaysia and India will help the Nation achieve a target of 20 million foreign visitors by 2019.
